Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026
This policy explains what information LingoLearnings collects when you visit, why, and what choices you have. You do not need an account to use the site.
What we collect
We collect basic, aggregated analytics to understand how the site is used:
- Pages viewed, referring site and approximate time on page
- Device type, browser and approximate country (derived from IP address, not stored in full)
We do not ask for, or knowingly collect, names, addresses or payment details.
Cookies and your choices
We group cookies and similar browser storage into two categories:
- Strictly necessary — remembers your light or dark theme and the cookie choice you made. These are always on, because the site can't remember your choice without them. They are not used for tracking.
- Advertising and analytics — would let ad partners show and measure ads. These are off by default and stay off unless you choose Accept or turn them on yourself.
On your first visit a banner asks you to choose. Accept and Reject are equally easy to pick, and "Manage preferences" lets you set each category separately. Your choice is stored in your browser so we don't ask again on every page.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page; your new choice replaces the old one. Clearing your browser storage also resets it.
Third-party advertising
Advertising is not yet live on LingoLearnings. Spaces for ads are reserved on some pages, but no ad partner is connected and no advertising cookies are set. When ads are introduced, they will load only if you have accepted advertising and analytics cookies.
Data retention
Analytics data is kept in aggregated form for up to 26 months and then deleted. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with your message.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to its use.
Contact about personal data
Email hello@lingolearnings.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
